Behind the scenes at any judo event is a hectic environment with a network of people dedicated to making the event successful. Here is a brief glimpse of officials and guests backstage at the Hyundai World Judo Championships 1999, Birmingham, Great Britain. The British Judo Association and the International Judo Federation worked together to make the event a success.
Whilst the Arena was being prepared for the closing ceremony I noticed some of the referees taking pictures of each other as keepsakes. I offered to take a photo of them altogether. Before I knew it there was 8 or 9 cameras in my arms ready to go. I took their pictures with their cameras, and shot this picture for my album.
