Itay Mazor Junior Israel International is a name many young competitors can not ignore. He is well on his way to being a leading world contender. Winning many international medals even though he has only been on the international scene for a short while. Itay Mazor: I'm from Rishon Le Zion city in the centre of Israel. I'm 17 years old.

World Judo: Hi Itay. Where in Israel are you from?
Itay Mazor: I'm from Rishon Le Zion city in the centre of Israel. I'm 17 years old.

WJ: Where do you train?

Itay: I train at Judokan holon Club , and also at the Judokan Ra'anana Club.I am also a member of the Israel National team and train with them. My coach is Shuki Koaz.

WJ: What Competitions have you won?

Itay: I won in the Israel National Championships 1999 (Kadet) a gold medal under 50 k"g (under 17 years old).
I won a bronze medal in Israel National Championship 2000 (Seniors) under 60 k"g.
I won a Silver medal in International Tournament in London , England (1998) under 50 k"g.
I won a Silver medal in International Tournament in Bremen , Germany (1999) under 50 k"g.
I won a Bronze medal in International Tournament in Bielsko Biala , Poland (1999) under 50 k"g.
I won a gold medal in International Tournament in Sienna , Italy (2000)
under 55 k"g.
On 23/4/2000 I won in the Israel National Championship under 55 kg
Juniors.

WJ: Wow, that's a very impressive record. Well done. It's nice to see you are also winning against the seniors. Thanks for the photo above.  How long have you been a judo International?

Itay: I have been competing in International tournaments from 1998 until now.

WJ: What did it feel like to win your National team place the first time?

Itay: I felt very very happy to win in Israel national championship.

WJ: How often do you train?

Itay: I have 6 Judo training sessions in a week , and 2 times in the Gym a week.

WJ: You are obviously very busy. Do you have any other interests?

Itay: Yes, my other interest are: Skydiving , Judo Films and Soccer (just for fun).

WJ: What is your favourite technique?

Itay: My favourite techniques are Harai Goshi , Seo nage and Kata Gruma.

WJ: Do your family support you when you compete or do you go alone?

Itay: My parents support me very much. My father films my fights every competition.

WJ: Is judo popular in your country?

Itay: Judo is very popular in my country Israel.

WJ: Who do you admire in judo?

Itay: I admire in judo: Nakamura and Koga.

WJ: What are your ambitions in judo?

Itay: My ambitions in Judo are to be in the Olympic Games , World Championships and Europe Championships.

WJ: What advice would you give other young competitors?

Itay: My advice to other competitors is: "Think before all fights to Win".
