INTERNATIONALE Open Van De Belgische Judo Bond
In my quest to bring you highlights of great judo tournaments from around the world, I found myself aiming for Vise, Belgium. The Belgium Open. A friend of mine had mentioned that it was an event worthy of a visit.
After a little research I was surprised and disappointed to note that the Men's and Women's competitions were on different weekends. Unfortunately being self funded I was not able to attend both events. My friend kindly offered me a lift so I gratefully accepted and appreciated it.
To our suprise the weather on the journey was atrocious. It snowed for the whole duration of the journey and trebled our travel time. So unfortunately I missed all but the last fight on the first day. However, on a positive note, the second days judo was magnificent and many of the best techniques from that day can be seen here.
